That was definitely the hardest 100 I have done. On the Hardtail with so much technical singletrack I am stoked with my time. We had rain the night before so the pine forest singletrack was very greasy.

Even though this was the hardest 100 I've done it was also one of the most relaxing. The 900km drive each way didn't seem that big. I headed down Friday morning with Wayne arriving Friday afternoon. Checked in at Cammeray Waters as I had a room in where race central was. We unloaded the car and then headed out to have dinner with Wayne, Paul and Anthony.

Saturday I headed out with Wayne for a reccy ride before meeting up with Anthony, Gavin and Kyle to check out more of the trails. After that we headed into town for lunch and then I had an afternoon nap while race centre was being set up. It all seamed very relaxing as generally its arrive late the night before, get up early and race.

Come race morning and the fact our room was 100 metres from the start meant we didn't have to travel far. We went for a warm up ride, and before long we were lining up to start. I was in about the second row of group one after the elites with Wayne and Paul. The gun went and we were off. About 3kms in the guy in front hit a rut, came unclipped and I could see my race coming to an end. I don't know how but he saved in the end. After about 5kms I wasn't feeling to good which ended up being the banana I at too close to the start. I'll make sure I leave more time between the last bit of food and the start next time.

For me the race went by with no real issues. The track was good and I had to walk over a few of the logs as they were quite slippery. I also walked the big bridge over the gully as it looked just a bit to nasty for me especially when tired.

I also lost count of the times I swapped places with Paul in the race. As I was stopped at the 50km water stop I thought it was quite sneaking of him to go through without stopping ;-)

All in all I'm happy my time and now preparing to head down to Canberra on Friday for the Capital Punishment. Below is my profile of the race.
